Attempting to lose all that extra weight I put on over the Holidays

Jadever Body Fat Scale. Old version of model J...Image via Wikipedia
From Thanksgiving to New Year's Day I put on an extra 18 pounds of pour fat. I am sure That I am not the only person in the world to gain weight over the holidays. Here is how I plan on dealing with this weight gain and getting my body back to where it should be.

I am reducing my carb intake, but not cutting it out like South Beach and Atkins suggest. The body needs carbos to function and cutting carbs out totally is only a short term solution to a life long problem. So here is what i find to be successful:
  1. eat 6 times a day, not 6 small meals, but 3 balanced healthy meals and 3 healthy snacks
  2. keep carb intake to 45 grams for each meal and 15 grams per snake.
  3. eat breakfast everyday
  4. drink alot of water, I mean a lot
I am targeting a calorie intake of 2000 cal per day, this is just a target as my main measuring stick and targey is the Carb intake. I am also staying away from processed food and any refined white carbs, so this means whole grain bread, brown rice, fresh fruits, and veggies.

I will keep you posted as to my progress, the goal is to drop 1.5 lbs per week. So Iam not looking for a fast fix but a steady progression to a goal. Iam also not going to be a slave to my scale, only weighing myself once a week on monday morning. although I want to drop these 18 lbs, I am more concerned with my body measurements, waist, chest, BMI and body fat % my targets are as follows:

Waist 34 inches

BMI 17

Body fat  18%
